Flooding 2019

In November 2019 the Chatsworth Estate saw some of the highest rainfall in living memory. Large parts of the estate were flooded. The cricket club saw some of the heaviest flooding on the estate.

The River Derwent broke its banks further upstream causing torrents of water to cascade through the entire cricket ground, exiting back into the River Derwent  at the lower end of the ground.

At the height of the flooding, around 2am in the morning there was about 3 feet of water in the pavilion and deeper still on the cricket pitch. The majority of these images were taken 3 days after the flooding had occurred.
